Court: Man Pleads Guilty To Stealing $19.59 Food

September 9, 2016

Appearing in Magistrates Court, a 48-year-old man admitted stealing almost $20 worth of food from Marketplace.

Terrance Parsons, of no fixed abode, plead guilty to stealing $19.59 worth of good from the Marketplace store in Hamilton, and disobeying an order to stay away from all Marketplace stores.

Asked to explain why he had disobeyed the Marketplace’s stay away order and stolen the food, Mr Parsons told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that he was homeless, was living in a derelict building, and was hungry.

The Magistrate told him that he would order a Social Inquiry Report and would remand him into custody at Westgate Correctional Facility pending the completion of the Report.
