Allen Temple Church To Host “Midnight Clear”
Bermuda will have the opportunity to hear what was billed as “the voice of an angel” when 15 year-old Bobby Hill of Philadelphia — who wowed the crowd when he performed for Pope John Francis — is featured as special guest for the annual Christmas Cantata of the Senior Choir of Allen Temple AME Church.
The Allen Temple Senior Choir and Friends of Sandys, Bermuda will present the Christmas Cantata, “A Midnight Clear” under the direction of musical maestro Mr. Daniel Hill on December 15th at 8:00pm at the Heritage Worship Center in Hamilton.
Bobby Hill achieved worldwide acclaim in June of 2015 when he was asked to deliver an impromptu a cappella vocal performance for Pope Francis at The Festival of Families during the Holy Father’s visit to the United States.
Since that event, Bobby, who was a member of the Keystone State Boy’s Choir, has been in demand both locally and internationally and has just released a Christmas CD which he recorded in Prague with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
The Cantata is a Christmas classic that will feature solos by Madree Musson, Michael Scott and Mr. David Darrell.
Their presentation will be augmented by the performance by Bobby Hill who will join a line-up of some of Bermuda’s most outstanding artists such as Joy Barnum, Simona Mills-Pitcher, Lloyd Holder, Lamont Robinson, and the young saxophonist-Aaron Spence to round out an inspirational evening of Christmas music.
The liturgical dance group- Angels of Praise, from Allen Temple under the direction of Mrs. Dana Greaves, will also minister.
The event is held under the distinguished patronage of Rev. Betty Furbert-Woolridge, Presiding Elder of the AME Churches of Bermuda and Mr. Edward Woolridge.
