United Airline Diverts Due To Medical Emergency
An airplane — traveling from Puerto Rico to New Jersey — diverted to the L F Wade International Airport this morning [May 21] due to a passenger needing medical attention.
The United Airlines Flight 1162 was originally bound for Newark, NJ after departing Puerto Rico; however, the aircraft was diverted to Bermuda after one of its passengers onboard experienced some medical difficulties.
Fire Service spokesperson, Sergeant Jamal Albuoy said, “BRFS responded to the incident with its ambulance from Clearwater Station and 3 personnel. The aircraft landed at 7:25am.
“One passenger, a 55-year-old male, was assessed and treated by our EMTs and transported to the hospital via ambulance for further medical attention.”
