Gil Tucker [Former EY Bermuda Chairman], David Brown [EY Bermuda Ltd. Senior Partner], Andrew Brookes [2017 Scholarship Winner], Demi Wright [2016 Scholarship Winner], and Craig Redcliffe [EY Bermuda Partner]
The scholarship is named after former EY Bermuda Ltd. Bermuda Chairman Gil Tucker, who was instrumental in building EY’s Bermuda business.
It is valued up to $30,000 a year for a maximum of five years until the recipient has completed the minimum educational requirements to qualify as a CPA. The goal is to provide students who have shown academic excellence the opportunity to achieve their educational objectives and ultimately build careers in the professional services industry.
The scholarship also includes an eight- to 10-week summer internship to gain practical experience, and an offer of full-time employment at EY upon successful completion of study.
“We are excited to announce Andrew as this year’s recipient,” said Craig Redcliffe, Partner, EY Bermuda Ltd. “He has demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to our community, which are both qualities that Gil Tucker instilled in us as Chairman. We know Andrew will continue to excel in his studies and use his EY internship to continue to build his skills.”
A great scholarship named after a great man. Now received by a great scholar. Well done. Congratulations.
