Police Confirm: Two Men Die Following Collision

[Updated] Police have confirmed that two men have died following a collision on Marsh Folly Road this evening.

Police Media Manager Dwayne Caines said, “Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Marsh Folly Road at 9.40pm this evening. Details are still emerging, but it appears that a motorcyclist was traveling east on Marsh Folly Road when he collided with a motorcycle traveling in a westerly direction.

“Both males on the cycles were taken to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. No further information will be given until the next of kin have been notified.

“One of the males has been identified as a Portuguese male, 35-years-of-age, and the other being a 29-years-old black Bermudian male. Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone, who may have seen this collision to contact police on 295-0011, and of course, the scene is being processed by the relevant police officers.”

Update 11.56pm: The police statement said, “At 9:40pm [Friday, March 16], first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on Marsh Folly Road next to the Marsh Folly dump in Pembroke.

“Details are still emerging but it appears that a male on a motorcycle was traveling east and collided with another male motorcyclist traveling in the opposite direction. The 35 year old male and the 29 year old male died as a result of their injuries. No information on the deceased individuals will be given until the next of kin has been notified.

“The area has been cordoned off whilst the relevant police officers process the scene. Any witnesses to the collision should contact police on 295-0011.”
