Bermuda To Host Caribbean Leaders Caucus

Bermuda will be hosting Premiers of the Caribbean Overseas Territories for an Overseas Territories Caribbean Caucus, with Premier of Anguilla Cora Richardson-Hodge, Premier of the British Virgin Islands Dr. Natalio Wheatley, Cayman Islands Premier André Ebanks, Premier of Montserrat Reuben Meade, and Deputy Premier of the Turks & Caicos Islands Jamell Robinson to visit the island this week.

A spokesperson said, “Premiers of the Caribbean Overseas Territories arrive in Bermuda this week for an Overseas Territories [OT] Caribbean Caucus, convened by the Hon. E. David Burt, JP, MP, Premier of Bermuda, in his capacity as President of the United Kingdom Overseas Territories Association [UKOTA] Political Council.

“The Caucus takes place in Hamilton from September 8 – 12, 2026, with the Government of Bermuda hosting the Premiers and their delegations for a programme of plenary discussions and engagement across the Island.

“Leaders in attendance include:

• The Hon. Cora Richardson-Hodge, Premier of Anguilla
• The Hon. Dr. Natalio Wheatley, Premier of the British Virgin Islands
• The Hon. André Ebanks, Premier of the Cayman Islands
• The Hon. Reuben Meade, Premier of Montserrat
• The Hon. Jamell Robinson, Deputy Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands”

Premier Burt said, “It is a privilege to welcome my fellow Leaders to Bermuda. Bermuda and the Caribbean Overseas Territories share a great deal – our constitutional relationship with the United Kingdom, our exposure to the same economic and environmental pressures, and our determination to speak with a clear and common voice on the matters that affect our people. This Caucus is an opportunity to settle upon common positions together ahead of the Joint Ministerial Council.”

The spokesperson said, “Discussion over the course of the week will range across the UK – Overseas Territories relationship, economic and financial services resilience, climate and disaster preparedness, regional cooperation, and citizen wellbeing. Leaders will meet in plenary at the Cabinet Office, attend a sitting of the House of Assembly, and travel to St George’s and the Royal Naval Dockyard during the programme.

“The Caucus is coordinated centrally by the Government of Bermuda London Office under Mrs. Kimberley Durrant, UK Representative for the Government of Bermuda and Chairwoman of UKOTA, working alongside the Cabinet Office.”
