Court: Jimenez Facing Cocaine Charge In Miami

September 18, 2018

Micah Jimenez is facing a charge of importing cocaine into the United States, with court documents stating that he was allegedly caught attempting to import the illegal drug at the Miami International Airport earlier this month.

According to court documents from the Southern District of Florida, “On or about September 8, 2018, the defendant, Micah Daniel Jimenez, arrived at Miami International Airport aboard American Airlines Flight #1026 from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in-transit to Saint George, Bermuda.

“After being admitted into the United States by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the defendant cleared U.S. Customs and Border Protection and entered a Transportation Security Administration [TSA] checkpoint on the way to his connecting flight. At the TSA checkpoint, the defendant presented himself and his luggage to TSA for a security screening.”

The court document further states that while conducting a pat down, TSA Officers allegedly discovered a plastic package containing a white powdery substance, and a “field test of the white powdery substance tested positive for the presence of cocaine.”

The documents state the defendant denied knowing what was in the package, and said the estimated weight of the cocaine allegedly found was .295 kilograms.
