Cruise Passengers Disappointed With Diversions

Cruise ship passengers that booked trips to Bermuda are “airing their disappointment” after their cruise destinations were changed as a result of forecasted weather conditions in relation to nearby storm systems, according to a report in “The Star Halifax”.

Passenger complaints appear to be centered around paying the higher cost of a Bermuda cruise, only to be taken somewhere that usually has a lower cost.

The article quotes a Norwegian Cruise Lines spokesperson as saying, “The safety and security of our guests and crew is always our top priority.

“Due to Hurricane Florence in the Eastern Atlantic, we have modified Norwegian Dawn’s itinerary.”

The Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre have confirmed that five cruise ships have cancelled visits to Bermuda next week.

The Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre posted, “Norwegian Escape, M/v Sirena, Norwegian Dawn, Insignia & Carnival Pride all cancelled visits to Bermuda next week due to forecasted weather.”
