Video: Sunday Sept 23rd ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that the BSMART Foundation donated school supplies to P1 students, American couple Peter and Mary Boggia revisited Bermuda for their 50th anniversary, Na’imah Astwood was promoted to the post of Superintendent, Government provided $60,000 in funding for KBB, Helen Cooper and Freya Giffen made the Powerwomen Top 200 list, and the Youth Movement series featured business owner Kayuntae Ming were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, Paget Parish Council awarded scholarships and bursaries to Reid Orchard, KyAsia Scott-Fishenden, Kamilya Reid, Lennae Edwards, and Amalia Pontes, ESPN’s CricInfo highlighted Delray Rawlins, Jade Stewart was named the Holland Hurricanes Athlete of the Week, Amber Reid, Ryan Dowling, Archer Hill, and Jessica Godfrey were awarded scholarships, and BEDC is now accepting Small Business Awards nominations.
Other good news stories included the airport being named the “Most Improved” by ASQ, Bermuda’s Youth Olympic Games team being named, Micah Pond scoring in a Brookhaven College win, the Daily Mail featuring Bermuda’s pink sand and coral reefs, Regiment soldiers taking part in an island-wide clean-up, and the Rotary Club assisting with the KBB coastal clean up.
We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the National Team winning the BRFU Sevens, the BCB Cricket First Division Twenty20, the Carter House Anniversary Art Exhibition, the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club, and the Gymnastics Association open house.
