Bermuda Men’s U20 Football Team Announced

The Bermuda Football Association [BFA] announced the Men’s U20 National Team that will represent Bermuda in the 2018 Concacaf U20 Men’s Championship.

A BFA spokesperson said, “The U20 Championship will involve 34 teams from the North, Caribbean and Central America countries who will compete for the regional championship.

“Team Bermuda Gombey Warriors, captained by Rahzir Smith-Jones, contains several players who performed well at the U17 level reaching the U17 Caribbean final round in 2016.

“The team will open their tournament play on November 1st against Costa Rica. Two days later they will take on Haiti. After three days of rest the team resumes their campaign against St. Lucia before closing out the group stage against Barbados on November 9th.

“The 6 group winners will progress onto the final qualifying stage. The Concacaf Champions; Runner-up as well as third and fourth placed team all advance to the U20 FIFA World Cup that will be held in Poland.”
