Field Hockey: Under 21 & Mixed Team Win
The Bermuda Hockey Federation’s league season resumed with a game at the National Sports Center, which was followed by a Mixed Team match against visiting Widener University.
Bermuda Under 21 Team 4 – Canaries 3
The opening game saw the Bermuda Under 21 Team edge the Canaries 4 – 3. The Bermuda Under 21 team took the lead in the 3rd minute with a Field Goal off the stick of Sam Davies, but twenty minutes later the scores were level as the Canaries got a Field Goal from Laura Burt.
Isabelle Roe would then put the Bermuda Under 21 team ahead 2 – 1 with a Field Goal in the 29th minute, but one minute later the score was level at 2 – 2 as the Canaries got a Penalty Corner goal from Lynsey Turner.
The Canaries then took the lead in the 47th minute when Nat Rood scored a Field Goal, but in the 57th minute Alivia Venning scored for the Bermuda Under 17 team from a Penalty Corner, and then in the 66th minute the Bermuda Under 17 team would get the winner from a Field Goal off the stick of Davies.
Bermuda Mixed Team 5 – Widener University 1
Widener University Women’s Field Hockey team began their tour of Bermuda by taking on a Bermuda Mixed team, losing 5 – 1.
The Bermuda Mixed team got 2 strikes from Emma Ranger, while Tyler Smith, Samantha Davies and Alivia Venning all added a goal each. Jordana Ambros scored the lone goal for Widener University.
