St David’s Holds Youth Football Prize Giving

Guest speaker Reggie Lambe shared words of encouragement with the audience at the St. David’s County CC Youth Football Prize Giving recently, highlighting “hard work, self motivation and determination.”

A spokesperson said, “On Saturday, June 1, St. David’s county cricket club hosted its annual youth football prize giving celebration with the theme “where can football take you.”

“The event was attended by Lovitta F. Foggo, Minister of Labour, Cultural Affairs and Sport, Tinea Furbert, MP for constituency #4, and our guest presenter Reggie Lambe, a national team player representing Bermuda in the 2019 Gold Cup.

“The evening began with the welcome and opening prayer by U7 Assistant Coach Aaron Lugo, followed by a presentation by Dr. Alshia Lugo, co-coordinator of the youth program. The presentation highlighted the growth of the St. David’s program over the past 10 years, and described how the young players and parents can use football to fulfill their aspirations.

“Guest speaker Reggie Lambe shared words of encouragement to the audience describing hard work, self motivation and determination.

“The audience was then treated to a season in review video presentation, put together by parent Shawn Lightbourne. Minister Foggo then shared motivational word to the audience.

“The remainder of the evening was spent presenting the peewees, U7, U9 and U11 with their certificates, medals and special awards, as well as acknowledgements to the parents who go above and beyond in supporting the team were given.

“All guests enjoyed their fun filled evening as we closed the 2018/2019 youth football season.
