The 2019 Optimist World Championship in Antigua saw the Bermuda sailors compete in the second day of the Championship Fleets.

In Gold Fleet, Sebastian Kempe currently sits in 5th place with 80 Net Points, Christian Ebbin is in 11th with 115 Net Points.

In Silver Fleet, Magnus Ringsted currently sits in 14th place and 79th overall with 190 Net Points, while Laura Hupman is in 50th in the Fleet and 114th overall with 273 Net Points. Nicole Stovell is sitting in 5th place in the Emerald Fleet and 197th overall with 268 Net Points.

According to coach Pablo Weber, “It was a tough day with unusual conditions for the team who had to deal with strong currents and seaweed all day. Although we only had one top 5 today from Nicole Stovell in Emerald fleet, our goals remain unchanged and I’m positive about all of our sailors improving their positions on the last day of racing tomorrow.”
