Police Confirm Death Of 76-Year-Old Man

[Updated] Police have confirmed the death of a 76-year-old Pembroke man and said “there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a cause of death is being examined.”

A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:25pm Tuesday, September 3rd police officers responded to a report of a sudden death at a St. Augustine Road, Pembroke residence.

“The deceased, said to be a 76-year-old Pembroke man, was found inside an apartment. An on call doctor attended the location and certified death.

“Identification of the deceased will be released once next of kin has been notified.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a cause of death is being examined.”

Update September 5, 12.10pm: A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 76-year-old Cleo Watson and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

“Police and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel responded to a report of a sudden death around 2:25pm Tuesday, September 3rd at a St. Augustine Road, Pembroke residence where Mr. Watson’s lifeless body was found inside an apartment.

“An on call doctor attended the location and certified death.

“A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist the deceased’s family at this difficult time.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a cause of death is being examined.”
