Shooting On Court Street, No Injuries Reported

Gunshots were fired on Court Street last night, the police have confirmed, saying that “forensic evidence at the scene confirms a firearm was discharged.”

A police spokesperson said, “Around 9:50pm Saturday, September 14th gunshots were fired on Court Street in the City of Hamilton.

“Early information suggests that a lone gunman approached a small group of men outside Spinning Wheel nightclub and opened fire. Forensic evidence at the scene confirms a firearm was discharged.

“However, there have been no reported injuries at this time. The scene has been cordoned off and is currently being processed.

“Any witnesses are urged to call Detective Inspector Kenten Trott at the Serious Crime Unit on 717-2345 as soon as possible.

“Alternatively, anyone with any information is asked to call the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.

    This on the same day the Premier introduces EEZ bills in the House to promote investment and new business in the area. Encourage visitors to walk around and stay to dine. Sounds like a great plan. What could go wrong?
