Video: Sunday Oct 27th ‘Good News’ Spotlight

News that Flora Duffy won the Beijing International Triathlon, Third Point Re volunteers helped clean up Trunk Island and donated $40,000 to the Bermuda Zoological Society’s “living classroom”, and the City of Hamilton unveiled the latest VIVID art installation by artist Tai-Quan Ottley were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In additional good news, Zeiko Lewis was named Offensive Player of the Year and voted USL Championship Player of the Week, Nahki Wells scored his eighth goal of the season for QPR and was featured in Football League Paper, and 13-year-old Rachael Betschart sailed around the island to raise funds for the Bermuda Optimist Dinghy Association.

Other good news stories included BELCO celebrating progress on the North Power Station, Chubb participating in the Employee Week of Giving, the Fulbright Commission offering opportunities for Bermudians, the Bermuda Arts Council Awards ceremony being held and Kitson donating to the Happy Valley Child Care Centre.

In further good news, Teyah Lindo scored in a USCB win, Willie Clemons scored twice in a Bodens BK win, Nathan Trott was named FansBet Man of the Match, the Kraft Cares Campaign raised $4,689 for BCHC, and Bermudian poet Nancy Anne Miller publishing a new book.

We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Mr & Miss CedarBridge Academy event, ITF Bermuda Junior Open Tennis Tournament action, Mad Hatters Rugby Tournament action, and Michael Sims, amateur Jarryd Dillas, and teenager Kenny Leseur qualifying for the Bermuda Championship.
