Truck & Motorcyclist Collision In Smith’s Parish

[Updated] A serious collision has occurred in the Middle Road, Verdmont Road area of Smith’s parish, apparently involving a heavy truck and a motorcyclist.

A police spokesperson said, “A reported serious collision has occurred in the Middle Road, Verdmont Road Smith’s parish area – apparently involving a heavy truck and a motorcyclist.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area while the scene is processed.

“Update to follow when more information is available.”

Update 2.34pm: A police spokesperson said, “Inquiries at the scene have concluded and traffic flow is returning to normal in the Middle Road, Verdmont Road Smith’s parish area.

“The injured motorcyclist, said to be a 20-year-old Smith’s parish man, is understood to have a leg injury but was conscious before being transported to hospital via ambulance for treatment.

“Any witnesses are encouraged to call 295-0011 as soon as possible.”
