Dept of Education Checks Ready To Claim
The Department of Education today [Oct 6] advised teaching staff in the Bermuda Public School System that did not receive their paychecks at the end of September that checks are now ready for collection from the Human Resources section of the Department at Covenant House, 64 Kings Street, Hamilton. The checks have ready for collection from 1 p.m today.
The Department has apologized for the delay and says working to ensure this oversight does not occur in future. They have also extended their thanks to the Accountant General for their assistance.

Why in the world is Government still producing paper checks for teachers to collect when technology has come so far where pay can be directly deposited into employees bank accounts. Can someone kindly explain this to me? I’m just asking
Why is it when you pay a fine they still give you and hand written receipt? Years later you are stopped for a routine check and the same fine appears on their computer as not being paid only to be told you will be held in custody walked to court in handcuffs and nobody is still able to prove anything if you do not have your receipt! So I ask where does the $$$ go when you pay it in the police station and are given this paper receipt? Do you not have a system where you can input a certain code or something to show this has been paid? What happened to that gentlemen is completely unacceptable. Apparently the error was in the magistrates court and not the Police service. The police are just pawns following orders. Matters like this are over their heads.
How does having a speeding ticket have anything to do with gangs affiliation.
