Prior to the competition Bermuda National Cricket Coach David Moore said, “We have a long way to go with Women’s Cricket, however, I am confident that the BCB is laying the foundations to progress in the right direction. ”

Allen Richardson, 1st Vice President, said, “Although, there are lots of women and young girls competing against the boys, the BCB recognize the need to provide an all-women’s tournament and league to enable girls and women to play against each other on a regular basis. The BCB’s aim is to encourage more women players to enjoy the sport, which will aid in the overall development of women’s cricket on the island.”
