MSA Students Remember & Honour
As Bermuda honours our war veterans today, students of Mount Saint Agnes Academy [MSA] hosted a special assembly yesterday [Nov 10] to remember those who have given so much. Poppies were given out to the students upon entry to the Auditorium:
During the assembly there was 2 minutes of silence observed, a video on the meaning of Remembrance Day, and the Last Post played. In addition the poem “In Flanders Field” was read, which is believed to have been written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae in 1915, after he witnessed the death of his friend and fellow soldier.
Poppies bloomed across the battlefield and cemeteries, to which Lt. Col McCrae wrote “In Flanders fields the poppies blow, between the crosses, row on row.”
