Teenage Shooting Victim Listed As Stable

November 2, 2010

The 19-year-old who was shot yesterday is listed as stable in a general ward of King Edward Memorial Hospital as of this afternoon [Nov 2].

Bernews has been made to understand from unofficial sources that the shooting victim may actually be classified as legally blind due to extremely impaired vision. This is not as result of him being shot, but a pre-existing condition.

The victim had gotten off the bus at the stop at the White Hill Field at 6:30pm last night, and two men shot him after after he had disembarked the bus. Following the shooting, the gunmen were seen to ride towards the Somerset area

Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. We unofficially understand he was shot twice; once in his back and once in his lower arm.

Police are particularly interested in speaking with persons who were on this bus, and also persons who were in the car park of the “Maximart” at the time of the shooting.

An active investigation into this incident is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011. Alternatively, witnesses or anyone with any information are encouraged to call the independent, confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline at 800-8477.

Sad to hear about his vision…I hope anyone that saw this cowardly act cooperates with the BPS

Brasco, do you really understand the irony in what you just wrote. Really….do you?

    • T. says:

I don’t understand the irony… Brasco wasn’t talking about the victim seeing what happened, he was talking about the public in general. People can’t even write an opinion these days without someone picking their comments to pieces. Jeez. Brasco, I hope someone comes forward with information too. These people, whoever they are, are getting out of hand, and useless comments about others’ grammar does not help the issue at all.

      • Brasco says:

Thank You T…Terry doesn’t understand himself….Too much Seinfield Or One And A Half Men

      • ok says:

Brasco is just one of those negative people that have to say something sarcastic on here to appear intelligent.

        • Brasco says:

You got the wrong Brasco….what was rude and sarcastic about feeling sorry for the victim’s on going condition of his vision?…..This may sound rude but “ok” stay focused on the matter at hand and don’t get caught up in Terry’s wacky/crackish type humor

To “K” I wish you a speedy recovery. My prayers are with you and your family.
