Collision Sends Motorcyclist to Hospital
[Updated] At approximately 7:45am this morning [Dec 6] a collision occurred on the main road leading into St George’s involving a motorcycle and car.
Traffic was delayed for a short while as the motorcyclist was attended to on the scene by first responders before being taken away via ambulance for further medical care at King Edward Memorial Hospital. To our very layman eyes, the individual did not appear to have sustained any severe injuries, however we will update with official information later today.
Update: Official info from the Police “Around 7:50am on Monday, Police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Fort George Hill and Wellington Street in St. George’s involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling along Fort George Hill and the motorcycle was traveling along Wellington Street when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 52 year old Hamilton parish woman, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 54 year old St. George’s man, was not injured. Both vehicles received relatively minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.”
