PLP: “Encourages You to Support Marc Bean”

December 14, 2010

marc_a_r__bean Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 15, the constituents of Warwick South Central, Constituency 26, will head to St. Mary’s Church Hall, Warwick, to select their Member of Parliament.

The by-election, prompted by the resignation of former Premier Dr Ewart Brown who held the Warwick Parliamentary seat since 1993, sees Mr Bean running alongside Sylvan Richards who is representing the Bermuda Democratic Alliance in the party’s first time sending a candidate to the polls, and the UBP’s Devrae Noel-Simmons who may not be able to make the polling station as he is undergoing surgery today for appendicitis.

The PLP says “For the past 3 months, Marc and his campaign team have walked the hills and valleys of Warwick South Central. He has met the voters where it matters most – on the doorstep.”

“Marc has felt the heartbeat of this close-knit community. He has been overwhelmed with the love he has received from all areas – from the residents of Jones’ Village, to the families of Pearman’s Hill, to the constituents of Khyber Pass. This entire Warwick community has embraced Marc. At the public meeting at Warwick Holiness Church, Marc commented how he has realised that in Constituency 26, there is such an overreaching feeling of family, and if we can harness this family spirit then we can overcome many obstacles in our communities.”

“Marc has been made aware of the issues concerning the residents. Crime in the form of break-ins, the need for speed- bumps in some areas, and developing the PHC Sports Club have been verbalised by the constituents. Marc has listened, and as a Member of Parliament, will ensure that these concerns are elevated to the heights necessary.”

“Marc Bean is ready to be the representative of Warwick South Central. He has a history of working diligently on behalf of the people of Bermuda. Marc has a passion for youth development, and firmly believes that as a country and a community we need to bridge any divides, be they perceived or real, between the elders and the youth.”

“A quote that guide’s Marc’s political ideology says “Progress is like a ship on a journey, heading towards its destination. Our youth are the wind in the sails, while our Elders, are the rudder that guides us forward. Our Ship cannot progress without the Wind or the Rudder”.

“Canvassing and connecting with the families of Constituency 26 has been an absolute pleasure for Marc Bean. He is immensely humbled by the support he has received to date, and looks forward to working on behalf of the people of Warwick South Central in the House of Assembly. The Progressive Labour Party encourages you to Support Marc Bean, and to Support the PLP in this upcoming Bye-Election”

  1. Wakeup People says:

Marc has walked Warwick, hmmm wonder how come no one saw him.

Marc needs to do the right thing and get that drug test before he talks about needing people to support him.

    • Bottom Line says:

Is Marc Bean running for president of North Korea?? The propaganda is that thick.

  2. voter says:

I like Marc and have known him since high school days. I have also previously always voted PLP but the recent leadership style by the former Premier and those that were right there with him (or hung onto his coat tails) has left me strongly considering other candidates. I wish Marc the best but I do hope the voters look beyond the PLP, UBP and BDA and vote for the person that has their (and Bermuda’s) best interests at heart.

    • dhunte says:

What has Butch Furbert & Mark Wade done with the cash PHC recd from the Shell deal? The constituents of 26 should have been asking that question for 10 years. Let Butch Cassisy & Sundance Wade explain the inner workings of PHC before a another govt dollar is given to that secret society masquerading as an executive.

  3. jake says:

Marc needs to explain why PHC deserve financial support from government to develop a new club house. This is the same club that for some reason has been( is still? ) receiving 80k from govermment for reasons unknown. The same club that did a deal with Shell for 1 million bucks, therefore, why is the cash less govt looking to finance them?????? Why them versus other clubs?

Is this the same club that Butch Furbert & Mark Wade preside ( more like reign ) over? In the same constituency that was the domain of the peerless Doc Brown? The same club that was left in great / fantastic financial shape by their former president Nibs Lewis?

Also need to know why the BFA are begging for funds from govt under the pretense that it will assist them tackle gang problems. They need to stand down on this matter as they don’t have the expertise nor the conviction to resolve these problems. It is more than a little annoying to read such garbage when the matter of gang warfare is so debilitating and is no easy fix. Even for those that have proven experience & relevant training. The dog and pony show was insulting and remains vexing….

  4. Dragging A Lure says:

Wakeup People, voter, dhunte & jake,

You all sound like losers that cast your vote for the candidate that lost previous elections against Dr. Brown. Therefore your comments against Marc Bean sucks. I made a mistake, you probably sit daily on PHC’s wall and never ever voted.

    • dhunte says:

Dragging, get rid of the lure. It’s making you bottom feed!!!

Marc supports developing a club for PHC using govt funds. Funds that no longer exist as a result of the frivolous, no worse, scandalous misuse of my money..I can assure you I sit on no wall and for the record endorsed Brown long before it was fashionable. Having said that I have been very close to the action, close enough to know that Brown and Co are worse than advertised..

Marc needs to explain why he wants to give more money to Butch and Wade without same explaining what has been done with the million bucks from Shell.

No more skullduggery boss. Can’t afford the blind support that you appear to endorse.. Grow and up and get wise!!!

    • voter says:

I’ve always voted PLP I wont make that mistake again. I would hate to think I share the same value system as people like you (dragging a lure). To bad you cant see the forest because the trees are in the way.

  5. krooked says:

“Walked the Hills and Valleys” honestly people actually buy stuff like this?

  6. observer says:

Screw this. Anyone with any functioning brain cells will NOT vote PLP. Haven’t you been screwed by them enough? Will it ever be enough for the blind PLP faithfuls? One can only hope.

  7. Dragging A Lure says:

    Hey ya all,
Looks like krooked and observer sits with the rest of you on PHC’s wall.
dhunte, give us your take on what Butch and Wade did with the money, go to the authorities with your information if some illigal activities took place or shut the hell up.
I predicted the outcome as early as Non. 12th on Bernews.
    PlP-383
    BDA-259
    UBP-172

We’ll see what brain cells will win.

    • dhunte says:

Same lame argument used re Doc Brown, Correira, Burgess and the like. If you can’t prove it than say nothing. Look how that worked out. A billion plus in debt, country taking on third world status and the silly Lure is still blindly supporting..FYI – The foreign authorities are here boss and they are looking deep. Like I said watch this space.

Brain cells, are you havin a laugh???

      • Dragging A Lure says:

        dhunte,
I agree, to what you are saying regarding “If you can’t prove it than say nothing”. Johhny Cochran say’s “if the glove does not fit you must aquit”

        Cheers

        • dhunte says:

          Watch this space!!!

          • Dragging A Lure says:

            Ditto!!!!!

            • Tru Dat! says:

Christ…you think almost a 1,000 people will turn up?

              • Dragging A Lure says:

                Hey Tru Dat!
My prediction is based on a 68% voter turnout (By Election). That includes some PLP supporters migrating to the BDA and the UBP loosing their base to the BDA.
PLP winning with 47% of the vote.
BDA receiving 32% of the vote.
UBP receiving 21% of the vote.
                What’s your predictions and figures?

                • Tru Dat! says:

The spread looks about right. Voter turnout I expect to be 55%.

                  • Dragging A Lure says:

                    Dru Dat,
Hat’s off too you, congratulations on your predictions. It was a good exercise.
                    Good Luck to your future.
                    Cheers

      • Lissa says:

        Scaremongering Dhunte. Not very becoming…….

        • Tired of nonsense says:

You mean like “back to the plantation” and “they’re all neo-fascists that want to lock us all up” comments by your beloved party in the 2007 election?

Are those types of scaremongering “not very becoming” as well? Or are those acceptable?

    • Optimistic says:

And if you’re wrong “DaL”? How would you respond to your predictions?

How about forget supporting the PLP and join the BDA?

      • Dragging A Lure says:

        Optimistic,
The numbers are variable factors but the results are fixed. Read my lips!!!

How could I support the UBP surrogate it would be considered aiding and abetting which a criminal activity.

        Cheers

        • jake says:

winning is the easy part.. fixing the horrible mess created by this pathetic govt is an entirely different matter..getting the blind to see is apparently impossible..

          • Dragging A Lure says:

            Jake,
Once blindness is subjective…your undying support for any other party other than the PLP, may be equated to tainted views or blindness of the PLP. If you have supported any other party in the past(12 years) perhaps you have not removed your blinders.

            Cheers

            • jake says:

Speaking honestly & admitting your faults is the first step on the road to recovery. Unfortunately that has gone missing on you and many in the PLP ( as well as diehards in the other political camps).

Now repeat after me, ” Hello fellow bloggers, my name is Lure and I am a Brown-aholic”…………….

              • UncleElvis says:

Jake, didn’t you know? If you say ANYTHING negative towards ANYONE in the PLP, you have “undying loyalty for any other party than the PLP” (which is a ridiculous statement, of course).

Note that, when pressed, these PLP propagandists and demagogues always go for the personal attacks and baseless accusations?

Makes you wonder what they’re hiding that they’re so desperate, don’t it?

    • Lissa says:

I agree with Dragging. Take it to the police Dhunte.
      Mark will do well!!!!

  8. George says:

I’ll vote for him & the plp if they all take a drug test
