BCB Wins ICC Global Photo of the Year

March 1, 2011

The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] has been awarded “ICC Global Photo of the Year” honours. The picture [below] taken by Samantha Dill is of Aunde Todd age 5 competing in the BCB Under 8 Youth Programme. Aunde is a remarkable young cricketer who started in our Pee Wee programme at age 4 in 2009 and progressed to the Under 8 League for St. Georges Preparatory in 2010 at the age of 5 validating the BCB’s award winning development programme.

Aunde’s very proud father, Andre Todd, commented, “My wife and I are both overjoyed that the photo of Aunde has won this accolade. Aunde is very advanced at cricket because he regularly competes with his older brother DeAundre, playing many hours of cricket in the back garden. We are grateful for the Board for providing the children in our community with safe and fun activities for them to pursue. The BCB programmes have sparked their passion and enthusiasm for the sport. We are overjoyed that they both embrace cricket as a constructive and positive part of their lives and are very proud of their accomplishments.”

President of the BCB, Mr. Reginald Pearman stated, “The BCB is absolutely delighted to receive the top award for the Photo of the Year! To be recognized for having the best photo of the year across the globe is an outstanding achievement. To beat out 94 other countries again and to have received three Global awards in three years is unprecedented success worldwide. This is an amazing accomplishment that confirms our dedication to the development of cricket in our community.”
