Students & Police Team Up For Cleanup
Bermuda is a touch cleaner today due to the combined efforts of the Bermuda Police Service and students from Lagoon Park Pre-School, Bermuda High School for Girls and T. N. Tatem Middle School.
Between 1:30pm and 3pm on Wednesday [Mar.23] officers from the Western (Parishes) Community Action Team as well as teachers/students from the Lagoon Park Pre-School and Bermuda High School for Girls cleaned up the Parsons Bay, Sandys parish area and placed blue bird boxes.
Members of the West End Development Corporation also assisted in hauling away some of the larger debris. The Police officers pictured are PC Donville Yarde, PC Valerius Jean Louis and PC Cerepha Bridgeman.
The following day [Mar.24] the clean up headed to Warwick, when officers from the Western (Parishes) Community Action Team and students from T. N. Tatem Middle School selected two bus passenger shelters on Middle Road in Warwick to clean up after graffiti appeared on them recently.
The students and PC Donville Yarde alongside PC Valerius Jean Louis painted over the graffiti in the bus passenger shelters as well as graffiti on a nearby wall in the vicinity of the Belmont Hills Golf Resort & Spa. They were supervised by Sergeant Michelle Simons.
