Video: Aaron Evans Misses 800m NCAA Final

March 12, 2011

Bermuda National Record holder Aaron Evans finished 8th in Heat 1 of the 800m on the first day of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. His time of 1:52.67 saw him finish 14th overall and miss out on the 800m final.

Mr Evans, who runs for the University of Georgia, spoke with Flotrack after the race, saying it was a fast race and “somebody took it out hard and with 200 to go his legs weren’t feeling it.”

When asked how he felt about the race, he said he is “holding his head high” as he has never been to the Indoor Championships before, and will continue to improve.

The athlete, who has represented Bermuda at a number of international events, took the time to give a shout out to the island in his interview saying “What’s up Bermuda, I love you.”
