The Bermuda Police revisited the scene of last week’s shooting, hoping to spur the memories of area residents after 22-year-old footballer Randy Robinson was shot dead at approximately 8:25pm on Thursday night [Mar.31]. The suspects are believed to have been riding a dark coloured bike, wearing dark coloured clothing, and dark coloured helmets.

The day after Mr Robinson’s murder Detective Superintendent Antoine Daniels said, “About 8:30pm last night police received a number of telephone calls regarding the sound of gun shots in the Friswells Hill area. Police immediately responded and on arrival 22-year old victim Randy Robinson was lying in an unresponsive condition on Border Lane North, Pembroke. Police observed that he sustained a number of what appeared to be gunshot wounds.A doctor attended the scene and certified death.”

The Police said the shooter[s] traveled from the Friswells Road area, down the hill of Border Lane North, left into Railway Terrace, then across Palmetto Road towards the Orchard Road, and then onto the Glebe Road area.

A talented footballer, Mr Robinson had a host of accomplishments in the sporting arena. He represented Bermuda internationally at the 2009 Island Games held in Aland, was a previous nominee for the Bermuda Football Association’s [BFA] Young Player of the Year, was selected into the Bermuda Football Association’s Academy team back in 2009, and played in the BFA 2007/08 All-Star Game. 1. I feel sorry 4 his son!

  2. Terry says:

“Two persons”- “Two males”. Police have a zero description really. How do they know they were “males”. Dark this, dark that, riding a “dark coloured”; nothing to indicate they were males.

What piece of information from witnesess indicated such.

Could have been two females. Could have been a female rider with pillion being male or vice versa.

  3. Kim Smith says:

As a part of the plan to address this problem we have with gun violence, there was some talk about banning those dark visors on helmets. Has that been done?

    • Kam says:

They really do need to ban them; It’s a small step but it would be a start….

    • bermyshotta says:

@ Kam – wouldn’t do nuffin. Guys wear ski-masks anyways. sorry to burst ya bubble haha.

    • Nicole says:

Yeah exactly but cars can’t have tint. If they were ski masks and the police see them pull them over. It’s a start.

This is Bermuda: “No one saw a thing.”

    Sad, very sad. SMH

  5. Confused says:

What I can’t figure out is that it was reported that residents had seen rival gang members riding around the neighbourhood all day prior to the shooting. So why did’nt someone pick up the damn phone!!!!!!

    • bernews says:

As a clarification not to anyone in particular but in general, that allegation was not reported by us.

  6. Terry says:

Still a free country ‘Confused’. We can travel anywhere we want right? Then again, your comments leave much to the immagination re “rival gang members”.

Not to compare with….”Saw a black man on Trimingham Hill road……..

Plus the fact you state they have gangs in that area. Your last sentence confirms my worst thoughts.

  7. Terry says:

Well, my sources say that they did not see a bunch of ‘gang bangers’ riding around. Wonder where the RG got their story from. Whats up Billy.
