Bermudian Accepted Into Welsh Ballet Company
Bermudian dancer Krystal Smith will be gracing the stages of the United Kingdom soon, after being accepted into Ballet Cymru’s Senior Associates Programme. The programme trains dancers for entry to the company, and as a Senior Associate, she will also be performing with them throughout the year as she learns their repertoire. The Welsh company has performances scheduled across Wales and England throughout the rest of the year.
Ms Smith studied under Sal Hodgson at the Somerset School of Dancing, and also attended the DanceBermuda international summer intensive since its inception seven years ago and recently paid tribute to the difference attending th intensive has made in her being able to develop her technique to international standards.
A spokesperson for the National Dance Foundation said, “It’s a wonderful accomplishment for her – she’s one of a new generation of Bermudians making their mark overseas in the performing arts.”
