Damn white man….gott em in shackels again….when will it end……Lord please deliver us from this evil…it must end………

    • really says:

I really did not want to comment on your silly statement but sadly you may actually believe what you are writing on here so I will say this TERRY.:
These young men are free to go get a job, they are free to go educate themselves and have the dream and pursuit to go to a good college and educate themselves for a better life. They are free to go online and start and tech course or overseas college plan via the internet.
They are free to work and save their money and spend it wisely on advancing themselves, with the internet and payment plans college or the banks work out ,something can be done to have the life they want.
We all have choices to make and if their choice is to do nothing with their lives then thats the choice they make to go to jail and so on
Its way too many people making excuses in Bda, when Bda is a lot more well off than some other islands and places where people are really suffering.
Get rid of your typical small mentality and open a book and free your mind

Did you stop to think that maybe, just maybe if they had not done anything wrong the white man would not have him/them in cuffs. Did you stop to think that maybe if you had done what you should have done you could be the one having them in cuff. Did you stop to think that the world is made up of different ethnicity of people even you with your racist comments. God need to help you.

seriously though, complaining about your working conditions by comparing it to ‘slavery’ does a real disservice to actual slavery, plus it makes you sound like a tool. just saying.

    • Think about it says:

Can you idiots not read? Terry is saying that the white man has them in shackles, not that the white man is in shackles. Jeez.

    • CURIOUS says:

REALLY! I mean reallly! really? you have acess to the internet and still you make foolish remarkes ? you are definately uninformed . As long as you keep trying to cast blame you will never have piece . I mean inner piece . in the words of the Colonel – Get over it!

p.s. Only women hold grudges mate, so stop acting like a b*tch.

        • Notorious says:

Exactly he’s a little girl still mad because I used my BRAIN to cut him down, mad because I’m smarter than he is. He even wanted to meet me to fight typical behavior of someone who can’t use their words to express themselves so they result to violence.

  7. Just Curious says:

to all BDA ppl.. white guys are stealing BIKES!!!!

Oops,, last time it was weed and ammo for 10mil.. boat from UK.. with..ya

    well.mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
    This is NEW..profiling.. people

  8. Common Sense says:

Please let me know when you last saw or witnessed a white man or a white youth being chased around the countryside after stealing a bike and NOT being handcuffed by the Police? This is really getting to be ridiculous. If the Police have to chase anyone, and I mean anyone, for allegedly committing a crime that suspect is going to be arrested and handcuffed. If not and they escaped from custody these same complainers would mock the Police for failing to do their job.

  9. U all sound childish!Race isn’t an issue.white/black,everybody does a pack

  10. wondering says:

    Bermuda is lost.

  11. get out of bermy!! says:

Most Black Bermudians r so stuck on STUPID its not funny!!!

    • Malachi says:

      @get out of Bermy:

Correction – MANY black Bermudians and MANY white Bermudians

  12. White Boy (Original) says:

I’d just like confirm that I am white and I’ve never ever been chased and handcuffed by the Police like the guys in this story. Luck? Perhaps. Racism? Or is it the fact that I’ve never been caught on a stolen bike? You be the judge.

  13. Furious says:

For all you small minded people, don’t always beleive what you see. Just beacause they were caught on a stolen bike doesn’t mean they stole it. Ya’ll need to look outside your tiny cramped up boxes, and keep your asinine comments to yourself.
You don’t even realise how your comments affect the people and their families that are involved in these situatons.

    • Let_Us_Pray says:

They were still stupid enough to run from the police.. and if they didn’t steal the bike they had to be doing something wrong or why run from the police in the first place?!?

    • Get Real says:

FYI…the receiver is as bad as the thief!

  14. OAP (Original) says:

‘just because they were on a stolen bike doesn’t mean they stole it’. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA – haven’t laugh so much in years. Give me one other explanantion.

    • huh? says:

Ummmm OAP wasnt it an article on this site ad other local media sites which stated that thieves were selling bikes on local sites like emoo…not saying they were right for running or didint steal it just saying its a possibilty that they didnt.

      • Choir Boy (Original) says:

Huh: so give me another reason then. Tell me what reason there was that they got stopped and why they were on this bike!!! Oh yes,, because they are black yes. Not beacause de blade was stolen right/

  15. Wow says:

I cant believe someone just threw the race card in this. Dude was on stolen bike – CUFF HIS @$$. My bike that I worked hard for got stolen when I was 18 back in the day, I wish I would have found the coward who did it. Work hard for your own things! All people do is complain and complain yet they are the ones who are driving this island into the ground. And No, I do not see white people in cuff because they are smarter when it comes to crime and they know how not to get caught, its not that hard!

  16. really....? really?? says:

@Furious… the fact that they RAN from police and led them into a chase leads me and probably everyone else to believe that they did something illegal! If they had done nothing wrong why would they need to run away? Sounds like they felt guilty and didn’t want to get caught! Looks pretty suspicious.
By the way, possession of stolen goods is also a CRIME. So it doesn’t really matter whether they stole the bike or not, because they were still committing an illegal act just by having it.

To everyone else: Race has nothing to do with it. Dumb comes in all colors.

  17. Ganja Mon says:

Black people this, black people that. We are all people! Just know when you point your fingers, 3 are poiting back at you!!

  18. Really?? says:

All you people bringing up race sound like fools. From the pictures I see two black men were arrested. There is one white cop and the other 6 or so are black…….so what’s so racist about that? I will say it again like I’ve said before maybe the reason you see more black people getting arrested or in trouble etc. etc. is because we live in a Country that is predominantly black, heeeelllllllooooo!!

    • jury says:

      @really?? I agree with you!

    • Watching! says:

Uh…really I think Terry was stirring the pot..race then became the issue from there on.

  19. CURIOUS says:

But ask yourself , why would anyone steel from another ( if that is the case ) I mean does this seem like proper behaviour to you ( normal) ? Theses individuals need some help to learn to make good decisions . Black or White we all must be law abiding like it or not . Instead of playing the race card or making negative comments perhaps these 2 people would benefit if everyone had possitive input, Because really; We may be unhappy with each other at times but in the end ? All we have is each other black /white and indifferent. have a great blessed day.

  20. US Observer says:

OK – So did anyone take a real look at the picture of the accussed with handcuffs on? I see a red hankerchief in his right back pocket. Is this possibly a gang member or a newby who is participting in an initiation process?

Steal a moped – you are accepted. Wow…

There has to be more to this situation….mopeds have been stolen for decades in Bermuda. What was the difference in this situation? *Imjustsayin*

  21. Proud to Be Bi-Racial says:

It’s a sad day in Bermuda’s history when any news story comes down to the race card. The more we make it an issue, the more issue it becomes. Yes, more black youth are “caught doing wrong” than white youth, but yes, white youth do the same things. I’m not one to say they don’t get caught because of the color of their skin because I have no idea. All of Bermuda’s youth have opportunities, its up to them on whether or not they decide to do something with it. Some will use the arguement that black youth don’t have the same opportunities because they can’t afford private school or college. Was it not just a month ago the valedictorian of Cedarbridge was a young black male who applied his God given brains to school work and because of that won numerous scholarships? Help is out there for everyone who wants it, it’s taking that first step that is the problem. There are plenty of white youth (and adults for that matter) who don’t apply themselves, get caught up in trouble, and end up doing little with their lives, the Bermudian public just doesn’t get to see it re-lived on the news every night.

As for the comment previously made:

“Damn white man….gott em in shackels again….when will it end……Lord please deliver us from this evil…it must end………”

Yeah, it was a white man that had him in handcuffs, but did you look at the rest of the pictures? The vast majority of the other police officers on the scene where black police officers, so that comment holds no value whatsoever.

Come on, it’s time to get over the race issue and and move on. We cannot change what happened in the past, but we can learn from it and change the future.

  22. joonya says:

Damn, Terry has you all wrapped around his pokey little finger.

Fact of the matter is you dont see whiteboys stealing bikes, killing each other, robbing tourists, etc. so they are not being arrested. If a black guy steals a bike, he needs to be arrested and punished for his offence. Plain and simple folks.

I mean do you want to let him off simply because he is black..?

  23. Watching! says:

Come to think of it, I happen to know a white guy that stole and sold bikes…he’ll he even sold one to a Police Officer. This was many years ago and he was eventually caught red handed and did juvi for a while….funny story when told today…not funny back the.
