Football: Rangers, NVCC, Dandy Town Win
Three Premier Division football games took place across Bermuda today [Oct.30], with Southampton Rangers, North Village Rams, and the Dandy Town Hornets all picking up wins.
Southampton Rangers 4 – Somerset Trojans 3
At the Southampton Oval, Ijahmon Mallory gave the Southampton Rangers the lead in the 14th minute, Jonathan Bean equalized for the Somerset Trojans in the 32nd minute, the Southampton Rangers went back in front in the 44th minute when Sean Perinchief scored.
Jelani Scott drew the Somerset Trojans level in the 60th minute, but ten minutes later the Southampton Rangers went ahead for the third time with a McQuinn Burch goal, however Dion Stovell equalized for the Somerset Trojans in the 88th minute, just when it seemed the teams would share the points Dennis Russell scored the winner for the Southampton Rangers in stoppage time.
North Village Rams 5 – PHC Zebras 3
At the Bernard Park, the North Village Rams took their fundraising goalscoring total to $1,700.00 after they defeated the PHC Zebras 5 – 3. The North Village Rams got two goals from Jahquan Smith-Deshields, and single strikes from Sammy DeGraff, Logan Alexander and Ralph Bean Jr., while the PHC Zebras got two goals from Antwan Russell and a single strike from Jonathan Ball.
St. David’s 0 – Dandy Town Hornets 2
At Lord’s in St. David’s, visiting newly crowned Dudley Eve Champions Dandy Town Hornets defeated St. David’s 2 – 0. The visitors got a goal in the first half from Seion Darrell and a second half goal from Aljame Zuill to walk away with the three points.
Saturday – Boulevard Blazers 1 St. George’s Colts 3
At the BAA Field on Saturday [Oct.29] visitors St. George’s Colts defeated the Boulevard Blazers 3 – 1. Allan Douglas Jr. gave St. George’s Colts the lead, Clay Darrell doubled the lead midway through the first half, Ajani Gibbons came close to pulling a goal back for the Boulevard Blazers, but his spot kick went wide.
Aldonte Smith pulled a goal back for the Boulevard Blazers in the second half, but Jahron Dickinson restored the St. George’s Colts two goal lead.
