Man Arrested For Paget Shooting
A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the shooting that occurred in Paget yesterday [Oct.5].
A police spokesman said, “A Pembroke man in his 20s is currently in custody in connection with the confirmed firearm incident that occurred around 2:20pm on Wednesday, October 5th at South Round-a-bout in Paget.
“Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and are interested in speaking with any members of the public who were in the vicinity, particularly anyone who was traveling along Trimingham Road or South Road in Paget at the time or anyone that may have been negotiating the round-a-bout during the incident.
“The investigation into this matter is ongoing and anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011 or the independent, confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.”

A person has been arrested! That means nothing, and he could also be innocent to this crime. A lot of time I just feel they arrest pple just to shut bermudians up or try to make us feel better, BUT the problem is bigger than that!! A few innocent pple have been arrested and charged for stuff! Bermuda goes by hearsay not evidence, and I’m sorry but a camera is not evidence!!! U can’t see their faces, so its a guess!!!

Despite the countless efforts of the police and the ranting public, so much emphasis is put on the Police Force to do “their job.” Yet, it is the people aka jury members aka gallery who return verdicts of guilty, not guilty or uncertain. The judge provides a judgment based on the evidence and defense argued by the Prosecution and Defense Attorney.
Unlike other jurisdictions, residents should feel confident knowing that the BPS has a quick turn around when apprehending suspects. BPS sole responsibility is for policing and enforcing legislation. It is the GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY that is responsible for REPEALING & AMMENDING LEGISLATION.
So, whose responsiblity is it ULTIMATELY—— THE PEOPLE!!!!
Notwithstanding that, I think it would be in the best interest of the OBA to carefully select which members receive press time. For it is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.
In haste I should clarify that the judge rules his judgment according to the decision of the jury. Furthermore, it’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t for the BPS.
