Man In ICU After Car Accident

A 23-year-old man is in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit after an accident early this morning [Oct.15].

A police spokesman said, “Around 12:40am on Saturday, police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Warwick near the junction with Marley Beach Lane.”

“It appears that a car was traveling along South Road when the vehicle went off the road, rolled over and ended up in a nearby field.”

“The driver of the car, a 23 year old St. George’s man, was initially trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel.”

“The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries and at last check was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The car was extensively damaged.”

“Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Gregory White on 295-0011.”
