Man Charged With Wounding His Brother

November 7, 2011

In Plea Court this morning [Nov.7], 20-year-old Tyler Burgess was charged with the indictable offence of wounding with intent to cause actual bodily harm to another person –- his brother.

The charge stemmed from an incident on November 1, 2011 when he was involved in an in-home incident with his brother.

Since the charge is indictable, Mr. Burgess was not required to enter a plea.

Senior Magistrate Archie Warner set a mention date of 21 November when Mr. Burgess and his lawyer, Mr Craig Attridge, will return to court.

Despite the Director of Public Prosecutions’ objection to bail, Mr. Burgess was granted $10,000 bail with one like surety.

Bail conditions are that he must report, daily, to the Hamilton Police Station, between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm .

In addition, Mr Burgess must stay away from and not interfere with his brother, who, since the incident, has moved out of the Burgess family residence in Hamilton Parish and has gone to live with an aunt in Warwick.
