Three People Injured In Two Accidents

Three people were injured in two separate accidents yesterday [Nov.11]. At 2:30am a 29-year-old Sandys parish man crashed his car into a wall on South Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Saucos Hill, and at around 12:55pm a car and a motorcycle collided in Sandys parish, leaving the bike rider and passenger – both 23 year old Sandys parish women – with leg injuries.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 12:55pm on Friday, police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Spring Benny Road in Sandys parish involving a car and a motorcycle.

“It appears that the car was traveling along Spring Benny Road and the motorcycle was traveling along Middle Road when the vehicles collided at the junction.

“The motorcycle rider and pillion passenger, 23 year old Sandys parish women, both sustained leg injuries and were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 27 year old Sandys parish woman, was not injured. Traffic was delayed in the area as a result.

“Around 2:30am on Friday, police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Saucos Hill. It appears that a car was traveling along South Road when it collided with a wall.

“The driver, a 29 year old Sandys parish man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment; however his injuries are not believed to be serious. The car received extensive front end damage.”

Inquiries into both incidents are underway.
