Digicel Offers $9 Internet For 3 Months

December 1, 2011

Digicel’s newly launched fixed line ‘Digicel Internet’ service is available to new customers for just $9 per month.

“This offer is designed to entice customers to subscribe to Digicel Internet for their home internet service and is an opportunity to save considerably in the process,” says Wayne Caines, CEO of Digicel Bermuda.

“Switching is very easy; simply fill out a form available in our store or online and you will receive your new account information that will enable you to change your ISP settings on your home computer.

“In most cases, you won’t even need a new modem when switching to Digicel Internet and you can get up and running the same day. If you face any issues, customers can simply call 272-4357 for 24 hour assistance.”

“Already at 9:00 am this morning, we had a customer sign up for our 10Mb plan home internet plan which normally cost $129 per month. Instead, this customer will only pay $9 per month, for three months for this plan,” comments Shane McDonnell, Sales Director of Digicel Bermuda.

“Our staff are ready to assist anyone wishing to sign up for Digicel Internet in order to make their experience as seamless as possible.”

Customers have until December 10th to sign up for the deal. For more information please see here or email info.bermuda@digicelgroup.com.

  1. Guest Who? says:

Digicel are really shaking things up.
$9.00 a month for 3 months just saved me over $300 on my home internet.
It’s about time we get realistic pricing in Bermuda.

    • Not so fast says:

That’s all well and good, but what is the monthly charge after the 3 months at $9 is up? I see absolutely no mention of the regular price in this article.

      • Shark Hash says:

The article said how much the regular price was…

“…our 10Mb plan home internet plan which normally cost $129 per month…”

  2. Goodbye Logic! says:

I’m switching! Great deal. I’m glad someone is shaking things up. These telecoms have enjoyed the luxury of backroom deals to keep prices high for too long. Glad to see Digicel changing the market.

    Well done Digicel

So this is just Transact in a pretty dress? Funny thing is I doubt most people would have switched if it was still Transact. I will continue to have my Logic account as I have not had an issue with there service since 1998.

    • 5boro says:

That’s too bad you feel that way. I’ve been with Transact since they merged with FKBnet and have had a problem only once because I reset my modem. Many of the people I know who are with Logic or Northrock have complaints pretty regularly about both service outages and customer service. I’ve stuck with Transact because they’re reliable. If that changes then I’ll switch, but I haven’t seen a difference in anything except lower prices.

    • Shark Hash says:

I’ve had Transact since 2008 and I have no complaints.

Who cares? It’s the same internet we all get and the savings are saying “hello” to my pocket…

  6. good day says:

i have a digicel phone, I am not a big person for drama but, I am glad the big guns of BTC, and Logic, are being challenged it is about time people have choices. this summer flights to Atlanta went down to $350 why because Delta Lost the Monopoly and compitition was introduced. However, the carrier was only contracted for peak period or the summer and in the Fall, because there was no competition prices went back up to $600 dollars.
Since digicel got into the longdistance game everyone started to cut their prices, at the end of the day it is not about “digicel” it is about competition in the market to drive down the prices. at the end of it, we the consumers benifit. do not fall in love with companies, unless you are a shareholder, owner or an employee, your loyality should be to good service, good prices, and a cutting edge product. We are to Loyal to companies that are not loyal to us. Look what happened to Cable and Wirless on the Carribean, they fleeced the countries of the region for years and made tons of money, their rates were through the roof, when competition was introduced and rates dropped people excersised their rights and left to the competition.

we must become loyal to companies that are committed to us. by cost savings.

    wake up!

Ok, so you get 3 months discount on your internet bill, now you can afford a modem in every room of the house and add to the higher rate of your BELCO bill…. LMAO! So now you can be on line and watch TV at the same time… Oh, by the way. Has Cable Vision lowered their prices yet? My rabbit ears are falling apart, they surely don’t make tinfoil like they used to…

  8. Triangle Drifter says:

Looks like Logic has more than matched them.

    3MB: $70
    6MB: $100

Been with Logic since day 1. Might be worth a call to see if they are going to match the 3 month $9 part.
