Police Officer Injured, Arrests Made
[Updated] Two teenagers have been arrested following two separate incidents involving motorcycle chases.
Yesterday [Dec.19] the police responded to a report of two motocross cycles riding at the Arboretum in Devonshire. When officers attempted to stop the vehicles, one motocross cycle rode into an officer, causing injury. An 18 year old Pembroke man was arrested.
The second incident occurred early today, when the police spotted two men on a motorcycle speeding on Ord Road, and chased them, eventually detaining the pillion passenger – also an 18-year-old male.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 12:20am on Tuesday December 20th, officers on mobile patrol observed two men on a motorcycle travelling at speed along Ord Road in Paget. As a result, officers attempted to stop the motorcycle and a chase ensued. During the pursuit, the motorcycle fell to the ground and the rider and pillion passenger ran off.
“Officers conducted a search of the area and subsequently arrested the pillion passenger, an 18 year old Devonshire man in connection with this incident. He has been detained in police custody pending further inquiries.”
In relation to the first incident, a police spokesperson said, “Around 1:30pm on Monday December 19th, Police responded to a report of two motocross cycles riding at the Arboretum in Devonshire. When officers attempted to stop the vehicles, one motocross cycle escaped onto Montpelier Road, while the other rode into an officer, causing injury.
“As a result, an 18 year old Pembroke man was arrested and detained pending further inquiries. A court appearance is anticipated in due course. The injured officer was treated at KEMH and later released.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information regarding either incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
Update: The motorcycle involved in the first incident [Ord Road] was reported stolen in November 2011 and impounded at the scene.
If he had done this down in Jamaica, Trini or DR the police would have beat his a$$ then beat his daddy’s a$$ when he came to collect his son.
Then when he got home his daddy would have beat his a$$ for just for his beat a$$.

Didn’t you know they are entitled to ruin our island with whatever means possibly. Can’t you see the excellent child rearing skills some of these folks have they should be given a medal because they have shown these children that they are entitled to do and stay exactly what they please it is called FREE DUM!
I swear Bermuda has some of the most stupid criminals. I read here daily to see people getting arrested over the DUMBEST reasons. If they spent half the energy being positive in life and not negative to society this island would be back to paradise in no time.
