Teresa Perozzi’s Trinidad Fight Postponed
Bermuda’s Teresa Perozzi’s bout against Trinidad’s Lorissa Rivas for the WBC and WIB Women’s Middleweight Title Belts – which was scheduled for Boxing Day — has now been postponed.
Ms. Perozzi said, “I am not sure what I am most disappointed in, I have had some suspicions that the fight was not going to come off, I have been trying to get in touch with the promoter for about a week, but this announcement has now left me out of a fight.”
Promoter Giovanni Potts yesterday announced that his 26 December, 2011, boxing event has been postponed. Mr Potts said adverse publicity has led to several of his main sponsors pulling out of the event leaving him with no option but to postpone it.
Sorry to hear – you’ve represented Bermuda for boxing in a stellar manner – it would have been good to see you in the ring again. Here’s hoping that the promoters can get their act together and get the fight back on the cards.
