Video: Tre Houston Speaks On Training
Bermudian sprinter Tre Houston believes he can go the whole way and qualify for the summer’s 2012 London Olympic Games.
Houston is just 2 tenths of a second away from qualifying for both the 100m and the 200m. In an interview yesterday at the National Sports Center he said, “To be there, to be in a lane, to represent my country, myself, family, friends, my coach…just to cross the finish line.”
Houston said, “Every young kid that runs track, I am sure they want to see the rings one day, and that is what I have been looking for since I have been running.”
He said he has been doing more endurance work to get ready for the 200m, and said his training has really improved.
Last week Bermuda Track and Field Association President Donna Watson announced that Houston had been awarded $15,000 from the Bermuda Olympic Association Olympic preparation funding to assist with his goal of reaching the London Olympic Standards.
