BCB: ICC Cricket Administration Course

The Bermuda Cricket Board announced that the second segment of the ICC Cricket Administration Program (CAP) on “Financial Management” will take place on Tuesday 28 February, 6pm-9pm at Charities House on Point Finger Road.

The Cricket Administration Program is a collection of resources targeted at improving the knowledge, skills and performance of cricket administrators around the world. The CAP module on Finance provides an introduction to improve the practical skills of community cricket administrators in better managing finances of Cricket Clubs.

Participants completing this course will be able:

1. to understand the importance of the clubs Treasurer;
2. to identify the roles of the Treasurer;
3. to identify the role that financial management systems and operations play in cricket clubs;
4. to understand the role of common account keeping tools;
5. to understand the format, terms and purpose of bank reconciliation statements;
6. to understand the format, terms and purpose of a monthly income statement;
7. to understand the importance of financial reporting as part of the Annual Report;
8. to show an understanding of the format, terms and purpose of an Annual Balance Sheet;
9. to understand the main steps to be used when preparing a budget for a club and;
10. to develop an annual budget to meet the needs of their club.

The remaining modules include: “Effective Meetings” and how to deliver “Community Cricket”.

BCB President, Lloyd Fray stated this about the CAP Courses, “The Board administered the ICC Cricket Administration Program Presenter and Assessor modules and qualified ten local candidates to teach the program.

“This initiative has been extremely successful ensuring that we have locally skilled people able to provide the right educational support to our administrators and volunteers in clubs and cricket community. These courses offer an excellent opportunity for clubs to strengthen their organization and structure and I encourage all clubs to promote them to their members.”
