Signworx Netts Win Netball U/16 Champs
The Signworx Netts are the Bermuda Netball Under 16 Knockout Champions after they edged out the North Village Lady Rams 7 – 6 in the Final at Bernard Park on Saturday [Feb.25].
In the First Round, the Lady Rams defeated the Young Men Social Club Baby Bluebirds 3 – 2, while the Netts defeated the IAS Shooters 8 – 1.
In Round Two the Netts defeated the Lady Rams 7 – 5, while the Shooters defeated the Baby Bluebirds 5 – 4. In the Semi-Final the Lady Rams defeated the Shooters 10 – 5, but could not defeat the Netts in the final.
In Senior League action Deborah DeShields scored 33 goals to lead New Life to a 58 – 31 win over the YMSC Blazing Bluebirds. Rose Sanders added 11 goals for New Life, while Akiela Hendrickson scored 18 goals for the Blazing Bluebirds, while Fredericka Samuels added 13 goals.
The YMSC Lady Bluebirds defeated the WWC Pink Panthers 58 – 41, Danielle Raynor scored 40 goals to lead the Lady Bluebirds to victory, while Ebonie Burgess chipped in with 16 goals and Eshe Grant scored twice. Kirstin Saltus scored 19 goals for the Pink Panthers, Melissa Fiddick added 16 goals, while Darrika Simons and Melanie Brown both scored three times.
Chenzira Lightbourne scored 52 goals to lead the North Village Lady Rams to a 64 – 11 win over the North Village Lady Rams Too. Nikita Trott added 8 goals for the winners and Kristin Holman scored 4 goals. Jordyn Morris scored 9 goals for the Lady Rams Too, while China Taylor and Shantel Ball added a goal each.
Diara Benjamin scored 31 goals and Jaylynn Hines added 11 goals to help the Signworx Netts defeat the DC Warriors 42 – 7. Stacey O’Brien scored three goals for the Warriors, while Nicole Lewis, Michelle Edwards, Edonna Williams and Whitney Wilkinson all scored a goal each.
