Fairmont: International Women’s Day

March 9, 2012

The Fairmont Southampton joined business, social organizations and governments around the world in celebrating International Women’s Day by acknowledging the Bermudian women who have attained leadership positions at the resort.

Hotel Manager for the Fairmont Southampton Rita Healy said, “On International Women’s Day, it is appropriate that we recognize the contribution that our female colleagues have made in creating a Fairmont Southampton that is not only a great place to stay but also a great place to work.

“By being appointed or promoted to positions of leadership within the resort, they have displayed the skill, aptitude and commitment to providing warm and engaging service that represents Bermuda at its best.

“Not everyone can work in the hospitality industry and Fairmont Southampton is committed to selecting, training and recognizing Bermuda’s best to provide our guests with the world class service they not only deserve, but have come to expect from Fairmont Hotels and Resorts from around the world.”

Endorsed by the United Nations in 1977, International Women’s Day recognizes, acknowledges and celebrates the economic, political and social achievements of women. The UN theme for International Women’s Day 2012 is Empower Women – End Hunger and Poverty.
