Woman Charged After Traffic Collision

In Magistrates Court on Friday [Mar.9], 50-year-old Tracey Pitt faced six counts in the aftermath of a traffic collision that happened on 29th January 2012, and left two brothers in the Intensive Care Unit.

Because the charges were ruled to be indictable, they can only be tried in the Supreme Court, and she was not required to enter a plea. Ms Pitt was defended by lawyer Victoria Pearman.

Four of the charges or alternate charges were that on 29th January, she caused grievous bodily harm to a person while driving a car while she was impaired by either drink or drugs; one charge was that she was driving a motor vehicle while under the impaired by either drink or drugs; and one charge was that she had failed to take the breathalyzer test and give a breath sample.

Senior Magistrate Archie Warner set the matter for Mention on 23rd March and granted Ms Pitt bail of $5,000 with one like Surety.
