Bermuda U/19 Rugby Lose To T&T
In very hot conditions Bermuda’s Under 19 team were defeated by a well drilled and explosive Trinidadian team at the IPN stadium in Mexico City yesterday [July 7].
Bermuda had a rough start when in the first five minutes of the game vice-captain and flyhalf David Lunn had to be substituted after colliding heads in a tackle. Despite the setback the Bermuda team kept their composure which resulted in a 3-0 lead from a Tristan Kermode penalty.
Trinidad struck next when they managed to execute a quick ball out wide to their speedy winger who went in untouched. The conversion was made making the score 7-3 at the half. Kermode tried to cut the score down to 1 point before the half but a penalty that was awarded to Bermuda was reversed for an alleged infringement.

Bermuda started the second half determined to put points on the board and where unlucky not to come away with a Try after an amazing spell of close quarter assaults.
The pressure was continued by Bermuda and Kermode slotted another penalty bring the score to 7-6. Trinidad changed gears on the restart and worked the ball well over three phases to score there second try of the game making it 12 – 6, the score remained the same as the Conversion was missed.
Bermuda continued to work hard and had a Try opportunity go begging in the center from a quick penalty which Trinidad managed to counter attack and this lead to the third Trinidad Try of the day with the conversion made, 19-6. Bermuda still fought back and Scott Heaney went over in the corner from a quick penalty making the final score 19-11.
