Cabbage Patch Keelboat Regatta Postponed

September 13, 2012

Digicel Bermuda announced that the 3rd Annual Digicel Cabbage Patch Charity Keelboat Regatta will not take place this weekend due to the large number of sailing vessels that are out of commission post Tropical Storm Leslie. This event has been postponed until Sunday, October 14th 2012.

“Digicel remains supportive of this extraordinary event, which endeavours to benefit Bermuda’s charitable organizations,” added Wayne Caines, CEO of Digicel Bermuda. “Specifically, The Reading Clinic as this year’s recipient charity.”

“The Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and the Cabbage Patch Organising Committee, along with Digicel Bermuda are Committed to making this annual event a success each year, stated Commodore Brewin. “Unfortunately, due to circumstances caused by TS Leslie last weekend, many of our regular boats are still out of commission.”

The 3 rd Annual Digicel Cabbage Patch Charity Keelboat Regatta is now scheduled for Sunday, October 14th 2012, and is open to all boats with a PHRF rating. The first and second races will take place in the Great Sound, while the third race will take place around the sound and end at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club. The entry fee is $50 per crew member and the intended first warning signal is 10:55am. A prize giving, barbeque and raffle will follow to ensure that this year’s fundraising goal is exceeded.
