Bermuda Sailors Continue In Morocco

Bermuda’s youth sailors continued competition at the 2026 IODA Optimist World Championship, completing another block of fleet racing in Morocco.

Nearly 300 international competitors faced shifting Atlantic currents and a heavy swell in races hosted by the Royal Yacht Club de Tanger.

Thomas McBain leads the Bermuda delegation on the North African coast. McBain is in 37th place overall with a net score of 48 points.

Heath Meyers advanced in the rankings to reach 161st place overall with 133 net points. Meyers is followed closely by Bermuda teammate Miguel Leite, who holds 166th position with 136 net points.

Rex Henagulph is in 177th place overall with 146 net points and Jesse Savage rounds out the Bermuda scorecard in 212th place with 180 net points.
