Fire Service Respond: Small Fire On Court Street

September 6, 2012

Sometime around noon today [Sept 6] the Bermuda Fire Service responded to a report of a small fire near the junction of Dundonald Street and Court Street.

Police and Fire Service personnel are on the scene and have extinguished the fire which appears to have involved an electrical transformer [seen in photo above].

Staff from Digicel on Court Street appeared to have been evacuated from their building as a precaution and were seen [photo above] waiting outside.

A Digicel spokesperson said: “Due to an electrical fire next door to the Digicel store, Digicel on Court Street has been temporarily closed. All staff were safely evacuated and we are asking our customers to visit our Church Street store instead for their needs.

“We will have extra staff available at the Digicel Church Street store to assist our customers. We apologise for the inconvenience and wish to thank everyone for their understanding.”
