Fire At Unoccupied House In Pembroke
In the early hours this morning [Oct 31], fire swept through the lower level of a three story building at # 5 St. Augustine Lane, Pembroke.
The call was received by Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service at 4.24am, and they responded with 2 fire appliances and 8 personnel.
The BFRS said: “The first fire appliance arrived on scene within 6 minutes. 2 firefighters in breathing apparatus quickly brought the fire under control and fully extinguished the fire within 15 minutes of arriving on scene.
“The lower level dwelling consisted of two bedrooms and a living dining area. The fire was confined to a living/dining area where the room sustained smoke and fire damage. This area appeared to be currently under renovation therefore there were no occupants living in the dwelling at the time of the fire.
“There were no injuries reported and the matter is currently being investigated.”
