Police Memorial Service To Be Held Today

October 26, 2012

The Bermuda Police Memorial Service postponed earlier this month during Police Week due to inclement weather is being held today [Oct 26] at 4.00pm in the Military Cemetery off Alexandra Road in Devonshire.

Dignitaries, including the Governor Mr. George Fergusson and the Commissioner of Police Mr. Michael DeSilva together with family members, are participating in the ceremony.

Each year a memorial ceremony organised in conjunction with the Bermuda Ex-Police Association is held as part of Police Week to commemorate those who lost their lives whilst serving the Bermuda Police Service as police officers, reserve officers and support staff – in particular since the year 2000, as well as retired officers and staff that have passed during the previous year.
