300 Representatives Attend CCTA Meeting

January 25, 2013

Earlier this week more than 300 international representatives from the cable and telecommunications industry were welcomed to Bermuda to attend the annual general meeting of the Caribbean Cable and Telecommunications Association [CCTA]. This is the first time that the event has been held on the island.

Bermuda CableVision, one of the event sponsors, co-hosted the three-day meeting at The Fairmont Southampton, which is covering a number of key industry topics, including technical advancements, marketing, new programming highlights and methods for improving quality of service.

The meeting also featured a keynote address on “The Future of Cable,” as well as in-depth panel discussions and an Exhibit hall, where vendors are demonstrating the latest industry products and services.

The CCTA event is being sponsored in part by the Bermuda Department of Tourism, which hosted a very popular island tour for the attendees, as well as a golfing outing at Port Royal Golf Course, home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf.

Terry Roberson, General Manager of Bermuda CableVision, and past Chairman of the CCTA, says: “CableVision lobbied extensively to bring this international event to Bermuda, and it was well worth it, as the attendees have so far found the island to be welcoming, breathtakingly beautiful, and some have already expressed plans to return to Bermuda for a future vacation.

“We would like to thank the CCTA and our co-sponsors, especially the Bermuda Department of Tourism, for their support. I’m sure the meeting will be very productive and well-attended by a large cross-section of international industry professionals who I’m confident will go home with a very positive impression of our island.”
