  1. Ayisha says:

Love how they ate acting as if they know anything, masters in this or that but only for themselves, get out of politics as you are self serving people.

    • almostthere. says:

@Ayisha—did you check your comment b 4 posting?what are you saying?..This man is a former lecturer, he was just elected into the house of assembly, has written his book and also hosts a night talk show on Hott!…Everything about our lives centers around politics! Everything after you wake up in the morning has been shaped by politics, deciding what you should wear, to where you can go ..In order to change that, we must achieve our own independence from the oppressive system, in the meantime Mr. Brown is having lectures which is to disseminate information FOR FREE!So how could that be self serving ?

  2. Xman says:

Modern Bermuda is a mixture of methods, ideology, ans Cultural concepts carried on from old Bermuda.
Many Bermudians ancestry begins with some form of hardship labour be it stranded here from Hurricaine
( SeaVenture) and had build from scratch or those bought her chained and beared the hardship of slavery or
Those who were sent here after wars between Colonist and Native Americans of New England……… But the
Problem is that we’re not getting along as a people in only 22 sq miles because of past history .
We the people must realize that people from all races must come together in order to move ahead.
All races of people must embrace each others cultural differences and be as one Bermuda.
The people have got rid of the UBP,and the PLP (to a degree ) because there ideas had become old and had bad effects.
The OBA must take the island another leap forward.
I hope what Mr Brown is lecturing on is positive and not a revisit of built up problems of the past to ignite people to bath themselves in more hatred, mistrust , and racial separation that has devided Bermuda.

  3. Lecture 6 - on 17 December 2013 says:

    Walton,

Why arent you doing a Lecture titled:

“WHY THE PLP LOST THE 2012 GENERAL ELECTION: THE STORY OF ARROGANCE, LEADERSHIP, STRATEGY AND NEED FOR A NEW PHILOSPHY”

Please do ao Lecture instead of a Secret Report, in case Randy Horton and those Lister Bies cross the floor to become OBA Ministers they will use against you lot.

    Sincerely

    Lecture 6 – 17 December 2013

  4. Just Us says:

I wonder why some people are so afraid of history…

  5. grandad says:

talk is cheap!! we have the HIGHEST DEBT IN Bermuda’s history caused by the plp and we must endure more of this???

  6. nofooled says:

modern Bermuda? what? must be living under a stone! crime rampant, skyrocketing debt, unemplo.,homelessness, ppl have to migrate to the mother country to get basic food and housing, our young teenagers are having babies like if the babies were toys ..who is educating these ppl?,our tourism trade is antiquated back to the 30′s with zero devolopement, our ONLY airport you have to walk in the rain, storm or hurricane upon arrival, our beaches with no proper infrastructure to greet our WORLD CLASS tourists, the list is endless of BACKWARDNESS!!..who is fooling whom here?

  7. UNDERSTOOD says:

wonder if the word MODERN in the dictionary has changed?

  8. Jus sayin says:

We all know Mr. Brown is pro-independence and I would guess that is what his idea of “modern Bermuda” is all about. Thank goodness not many share his view. Now is certainly not the time to contemplate independence when we are so deeply in debt. Or to stir up fiction about how deeply oppressed by British rule we are since we are 98% self-governing.

  9. papa doc. says:

well we would like to think we had a modern Bermuda prior 1998…and now we have a destroy, broken up and POVERTY striken island with no development in our form of livilihoods..which are only two IB and toursim..and these ruthless destroy it their time in office…NOW WE NEED TO START fROM scratch to build up again…so brown take your lies and bs to somewhere else..

  10. Smith says:

I AM VERY SURPRISED BERNEWS DID NOT COVER THIS EVENT!!!

The first lecture held last night (which was filmed) was excellent….well done Mr. Walton Brown! It gave objective insight into how Bermuda developed socially and economically since the 1600s. Definitely one for the history books that all Bermudians need to come to terms with! The information demonstrated how and why Bermudians (White and Black and those who have assimilated into our culture) act the way they do and have benefited (or not) today. It leaves one begging the questions, how can we change to bridge the racial divide? Or are people just too afraid to do so? I hope that the National Library or our local TV channels show this lecture series. Looking forward to lectures II through IV. Please ….. let’s get some media coverage. Thanks!!
